Colour mixing

Colour mixing is a work of art in itself. It takes time, patience and practice. If you are new to painting again, familarise yourself with the colour theory, primary, secondary and tertiary. Have a fun day mixing as many different variations of each secondary colour as possible. I often have a test piece of paper by my side, as well as a paper towel. I refer to my paper towel as my best friend with painting, as it really is there to help me clear up any mess, as well as help me to be more controlled.

Grab yourself a good quality sketchbook, some good quality paints, a size 4 or size 6 paintbrush for this process is perfect and have some fun. I would suggest putting on your favourite music and let an hour pass pass. This really is utter relaxation.
